CSO Snow Survey

Last winter we collaborated with Community Snow Observations and Citizen Science to collect snow depth data in the Gunnison Valley. This data was used by NASA to compare against previous snow years and to create runoff models.

Snow Survey 2020

For 2020 the Channel will continue this project in order to gather data for CSO over consecutive years.

2020 Dates: Feb 16th, 23rd, March 7th-8th (350 project), 15th 

Locations: Mill Creek and Taylor Reservoir on March 7th and 8th.  Other locations TBD prior to departure for the day.

All dates will start by meeting in the WCU UC parking lot at 2:00pm.

The Channel and Rocky Mountain PBS present Western Water -- and Power

Join the Channel, Rocky Mountain PBS, and the Colorado Office of Film Television & Media for the "Colorado Experience" Road Show screening of Western Water -- and Power, February 25th in the WCU University Center Theatre.

Join us for an evening filled with fascinating storytelling, a water resource networking fair, and a locally-produced film! The Channel will also be selling concessions as a fundraiser for our River Research Trip this April!

Location: WCU University Center Theater
Pre-Screening Water Social hour 5:30-6:30
"Western Water & Power" Screening @ 6:30pm
